Dog Creek- Native American Caves

Guided single day tour of the Dog Creek Caves

per person

The Dog Creek Caves is a one of a kind wonder in the North Umpqua, with rock art and pictographs seen on the walls of the caves. This rock art site is a place of supernatural power. Paintings such as the ones in the caves are recordings of Shaman's supernatural visions and show images of their spirit helpers, geometric patterns seen during visions, and other events. The paintings in the cave show that it was considered a magical place where spirits could be contacted. Other wonders can be seen around the cave, such as figures seen in rock formations. Being a Cultural Heritage Site, defacing or touching of the caves pictographs is strictly prohibited.
