Mt. Thielsen Hike
Guided single day signature hike to the majestic Mt. Thielsen
The center piece for Mt. Thielsen wilderness is the prominent horn-like peak created by glaciers after the eruptive activity ceased 250,000 years ago. The Spire like shape attracts lightning strikes and creates a unique mineral called "fulgurite". Your hike begins at the Mt. Thielsen Wilderness trailhead. A total of 6-7 hours depending on your endurance, can be expected for this amazing hike. The visual spectacle from the top includes views of Mt. Bailey and Crater Lake, as well as the Mt. Thielsen Wilderness and the Cascade Mountain Range. With an elevation gain of about 3,782 ft, this hike provides a fantastic opportunity for the mountain climber in you! Unfortunately due to the technical and daring climb to the top, we stop before the 200ft hand-over-hand climb to the peak. Bring your cameras!
